Limegrove center

Let's take the new Frenchie to the west coast, and discover Limegrove Life Center
Allons faire un tour sur la cote ouest avec la nouvelle Francaise et découvrir Limegrove "centre de vie"

How to say.... beautiful design, gorgeous architecture, fresh fancy atmosphere....
But one negative remark though: the mall has been created exclusively for very rich customers.
It is not a secret, it's official. Barbados claims proudly : " Look at the luxurious brands we propose !"
Bajans ( I mean 90% of them ) can not afford anything from those stores. 
The social level of this Center isn't oriented to the local population
but to the rich tourists from Europe and the US.....
well.... it's a choice 

Comment dire.. beau design, magnifique architecture, atmosphère moderne et sophisitquée...
Mais une remarque négative par contre: le centre a été crée
exclusivement pour des consommateurs très riches.
Ce n'est pas un secret, c'est officiel. La Barbade l'annonce fièrement :
"Regardez les marqes de Luxe qu'on propose !" 
Les Barbadiens ( je veux dire 90% d'entre eux ) ne peuvent pas se permettre quoi que ce soit
dans aucune de ces boutiques. 
Le niveau social de ce Centre n'est pas dirigé vers la population locale,
mais vers les touristes riches venus d'Europe et de Etats-Unis...
Bon... c'est un choix. 

Jammin Cruise - Croisière Jammin

Saturday 27th August 2011

The friday night we went to Oistins, and then to a house party.
Justin, Rohan, his cousins and uncle... were partying hard, when at around 3:30am Rohan told me that he had an extra ticket for a cruise on the Jammin
Catamaran saturday.
(Wait... saturday is tomorrow, well today!)
and that i would have to be ready at 8 am...
mmmmm let me think... bed at 4am, waking up at 7am...... YES SURE !!!! I'M IN !! 

Le vendredi soir on est allé à Oistins, et puis à une soirés dans une maison. 
Justin, Rohan, ses cousins et oncle... étions en train de faire la fete a fond, quand Rohan, vers 03h30 me dit qu'il a un ticket en trop pour une croisière sur un catamaran samedi, (attends... samedi c'est demain, enfin tout à l'heure)
et que j'aurais à etre prete à 08h...hummmmmmm laisse moi voir... au lit à 04h, se reveiller à 07h...
OUI EVIDEMMENT !!!
JE SUIS PARTANTE !!

i stay on the boat with the guys that can't swim.  Because it is not really hot today, i don't know, i have a bad premonition about the weather......
Je reste sur le bateau avec les mecs qui savent pas nager ahahaha parce qu'il ne fait pas vraiemnt chaud aujourd'hui, je sais pas, j'ai comme un mauvais pressentiment à propos du temps...

The right one!!!!mmmmmm nice day for a cruise lol rain, thunder, dark sky, lightening....Le coté droit !!!
mmmmm sympa comme jour pour une croisière, tonnerre, ciel nor, éclairs....

I almost died by a lightening thing that fell like 2 meters away from the boat.
I was talking to Rohan, the lightening exploded in my back !!!!
i saw the light but i didn't realise it was so close !!!!! the others saw for me, and were scared for me.
the noise was terrifying, everybody was shocked, it was so close....
I had never seen that from so close... astonishing.... toooo scary..

Fortunately i wasn't holding the metal bar, but a staff member was, he got the electricity,
he was in pain....

J'ai failli mourrir par la foudre qui est tombée à genre 2 metres du bateau.
J'étais en train de parler avec Rohan, l'éclair a explosé dans mon dos !!!
J'ai vu la lumière, mais je me rendais pas compte que c'était si proche !!! les autre ont vu pour moi, et ont eu peur pour moi.
Le bruit était terrifiant, tout le monde était choqué, c'était si pres...
J'avais jamais vu ca d'aussi pres... pétrifiant.... paralysant.....

Heureusement je tenais pas la barre metalique, mais un membre de l'équipage la touchait, il a recu l'électricité, il a eu super mal.... 

 

The sun finally appeared, at the end of the cruise.
Le soleil est finallement apparu, à la fin de la croisière. 

People usually dance on Jammin cruise, the music is lively and loud, but today....
we were a bunch of tired (drunk) young people.... shame on us......
Les gens danse généralement sur le Jamin Croisière, la musique est vivante et forte, mais aujourd'hui....
on était un troupeau de jeunes fatigués (saouls).... la honte.... 

Bad weather but great day, free delicious food, free drinks,
cool friends as usual
Mauvais temps mais super journée, nourriture délicieuse et gratuite, boissons gratuites,
bons amis comme d'habitude

My work - Mon travail

I work at the Barbados Advocate, one of the 2 daily newspapers in Barbados.
Here we call the Nation "Next door", (because their head office is actually next door) like if we couldn't pronounce this taboo word, the name of the enemy......

Je travaille au Barbados Advocate, un des 2 quotidiens nationaux a la Barbade.
Ici, on appelle the Nation "La porte d'à coté", ( parce que leur siège social est vraiment la porte à coté de la notre) comme si on ne pouvait pas prononcer ce mot taboo, le nom de l'ennemi...

it's what i was told 4 months ago....
So far i did..... one.

Je vais normalement "bientot" creer des publicités qui seront

C'est ce qui m'a été dis il y a 4 mois...
Jusqu'ici j'en ai fait.... une.  

I was told by the Big boss to "take it easy" when i asked for more work to do,
knowing i finished the websites ever since and i update them every friday.
I actually have 4 free days per week.
So i work for freelance clients.
The Advocate is aware of my activity and we agreed i can do that from my desk here, in their building. PERFECT !

Le grand Patron m'a dit : "détends toi" quand j'ai demandé plus de travail à faire, sachant que j'ai fini les sites internet depuis des lustres et que je ne les actualise que tous les vendredis.
En fait, j'ai 2 jours de libre par semaine.
Donc je travaille pour des clients en free lance.
Le Advocate sait que j'ai cette activité, et on s'est mis d'accord sur le fait que je peut faire ca depuis mon bureau ici , dans leur locaux.PARFAIT !
